Abstract

Narrative journalism usually narrates all kinds of stories and news events, including travel chronicles, which over time have been written by writers and journalists. In these texts, narrativity and the use of literary figures, which serve to provide nuance and enhancement artistic to the chronicle. Some representatives of this type of narration are Bartolomé de las Casas, Pedro Cieza de Leon, Stendhal, Honore de Balzac, Ernest Hemingway and Albert Camus. The objectives of this study are to analyze, compare and establish the style and tools of narrative journalism used by two chronicles that belong to literary journalism, and that correspond to two authors Latin Americans: Alma Guillermoprieto, contemporary author and Rubén Darío, author modernist. They are two chronicles that describe their experiences and what it means
for them. Each one the trip to Nicaragua (Central American country), a journey that occurs in times different. This research is descriptive-comparative, non-experimental and qualitative. The content analysis technique is used and its instrument is the analysis matrix. The population equals the sample: a chronicle of each author.

Author Biography

  • Angie Jennifer Anticona Alegre, Peruvian University of Applied Sciences

    Degree in Communication and Journalism from the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC). She has worked as an editor for news articles on Radio Libertad and Mamá por Tres Magazine. Likewise, she has been part of the team of communicators at the NGO Tierra y Ser. She has studied the courses of Digital Photography, Digital Marketing, Community Manager, Web Analytics, Photoshop and Illustrator at the Peruvian Institute of Art and Design (IPAD). She has completed the Latin American Chronicles Workshop and the Diploma in Latin American Narrative Journalism at the School of Portable Journalism, founded in Buenos Aires, and directed by the Chilean writer and journalist Juan Pablo Meneses. Currently, she works as a distance learning assistant at the Faculty of Communications of the UPC.
