Policies for articles
In original articles, it is essential that authors provide an accurate description of the study conducted and an objective discussion of its relevance. In addition, manuscripts should accurately represent the underlying data and contain sufficient detail and references to allow other researchers to reproduce the work. Fraudulent or deliberately inaccurate statements are considered unethical behavior and are unacceptable, according to standards 5.01a and 8.10a of the Code of Ethics of the American Psychological Association (APA Standards).
These standards ensure the integrity and quality of the content published in our journal, as well as the responsible contribution to scientific literature in the field of Social Communication.
Adherence to International Declarations
Correspondencias & análisis journal was started as an open access scientific publication and is committed to good practices related to research, authorship and scientific publication, and therefore promotes compliance with the following declarations at different stages of the publication process:
Open Access Policies
This journal provides open access to its content, based on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. In this regard, all publications of the journal Correspondencias & Análisis are free of fees or any other economic cost.
The growing use of generative AI
Has prompted us to establish the first policies around its use to guide editors, authors, and evaluators.
The editor, as the person responsible for the editorial process, receives the manuscript as a confidential document and has the obligation to keep it as such throughout the evaluation process, until its publication. The manuscript must not be uploaded to any artificial tool. Doing so may violate confidentiality, the property rights of the authors or the privacy rights of the data. This confidentiality extends to communications about the manuscript.
Authors, as responsible for their works, must accurately declare the use of generative AI, the tool used, the content generated, and the corresponding purpose. They may only be used to improve language and writing, not to interpret data or draw conclusions, since their results may be incorrect, incomplete, or biased.
AI should not be cited as an author; as a computer technology, it lacks the human capacity to assume responsibility or give consent.
Human authors are responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of their documents.
Reviewers, must not use generative AI in their review processes. The manuscript remains confidential at this stage. Review is a critical exercise in human responsibility, and there is a risk that technology may generate incorrect, incomplete, or biased conclusions. These policies follow the protocol outlined by Elsevier (2024) .
